This session will be moderated by Stephanie Sugar (She/Her) , a Partner at McCarthy Tétrault in Toronto. Stephanie advises on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, with particular expertise in consumer protection and class actions defence. She has significant experience in the retail/consumer and agribusiness industries, providing strategic guidance on complex legal challenges. Stephanie has appeared as counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court, and all levels of Ontario’s Courts, and also represents clients in professional regulation and discipline matters. Known for her strong advocacy and practical approach, Stephanie helps clients navigate high-stakes disputes and regulatory issues with clarity and confidence. Marius Sobrepena - Marius Sobrepena is the Head of Human Resources and Workforce Strategy at Interac where he drives enterprise-wide people transformation and operational excellence. Marius leads teams responsible for HR Strategy, DEI, Talent Acquisition, People Operations, HR Systems and Advance Analytics, Policy and Governance, Real Estate and Corporate Facilities.Previous to Interac, Marius has held various strategy and expert roles at Mackenzie Investments, BCG, and the CPP Investment Board. He is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) and holds a Master of Industrial Relations and Human Resources from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Commerce from Toronto Metropolitan University, and Advance Certificate in Strategic HR Management from Cornell.
Miles Wong (He/Him) - Miles Wong is the Vice President of Global Placement at Marsh McLennan, overseeing the management and placement of complex insurance programs for corporate clients worldwide, with a specialization in corporate property. Born and raised in Calgary to Chinese Canadian parents, he earned his Bachelor of Commerce in Risk Management & Insurance from the University of Calgary in 2011. Since joining Marsh in 2020, Miles has become an active leader within the company’s Colleague Resource Group (CRG) and has served as Pride CRG Co-Chair since 2023. In this role, he helps organize pride-related events and initiatives across Canada, promoting a more inclusive and supportive workplace. Miles is openly gay, came out at 16, and lives with his partner of ten years, Masashi. He is passionate about fostering authenticity, mentoring young talent, and advocating for LGBTQ+ inclusion beyond visibility. As a self-described “insurance nerd,” he is committed to continuous learning and inspiring organizational change from the ground up.
Letecia Rose (She/Her/Hers) - Letecia Rose is the Chief Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer at Fasken, where she collaborates with firm leadership to foster inclusive outcomes and cultivate a culture of belonging. With a passion for creating equitable spaces, her values-driven approach centers on “fostering proximity to promote empathy,” combined with her expertise in designing people-centered solutions. Letecia’s diverse experience spans corporate, non-profit, and public sectors, where she has developed and led EDI strategies that drive both cultural change and measurable business results. She has worked closely with boards, senior executives, and HR teams to embed equity into talent management, leadership development, and organizational design. Recognized as a leader in diversity and social justice, Letecia has received numerous awards, including the United Way Innovation and Creativity Award, the Vital People award from the Toronto Community Foundation, and recognition as a Top 100 Accomplished Black Leader for 2024.
