Miles Wong is the Vice President of Global Placement at Marsh McLennan, where he oversees the management and placement of complex insurance programs for corporate clients with global operations—specializing in corporate property. Born and raised in Calgary, to Chinese Canadian parents, Miles graduated from the University of Calgary in 2011 with a Bachelor of Commerce in Risk Management & Insurance.
He joined Marsh in 2020 and has since become an active leader within the company’s Colleague Resource Group (CRG). He has served as Pride CRG Co-Chair since 2023, working alongside a dedicated team to host pride-related events, workshops, and seminars across Canada. Miles is deeply committed to fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment and feels privileged to collaborate with such inspiring teammates. Under his leadership, the group has sponsored and participated in Pride conferences across the country.
A proud openly gay man, Miles came out at 16 and lives with his partner of ten years, Masashi. He cares deeply about authenticity and advocates for how corporations can support LGBTQ+ individuals beyond visibility—by creating environments where everyone can bring their whole selves to work and life. He is especially committed to mentoring young talent through Marsh’s Early Careers Program and hopes to inspire other organizations to follow suit.
An insurance enthusiast and self-described “insurance nerd,” Miles is dedicated to continuous learning and sharing knowledge within his field.
Through his work and advocacy, Miles aims to demonstrate how individuals and organizations can work from the bottom up to foster inclusion, equity, and authenticity—believing that real change begins with each of us.
