Job Description
Start Proud is seeking a Content Associate (Social Media) to support the creation and execution of social media content across Start Proud’s platforms year-round. This role is ideal for a student or aspiring content or communications professional who wants hands-on experience building consistent, social-first content for a growing professional community and its flagship initiatives, including the Out on Bay Street (OOBS) conference.
The Content Associate will play a key role in maintaining a steady drumbeat of content that drives awareness, engagement, and community connection: supporting Start Proud’s programs, partnerships, events, and storytelling throughout the year.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Support the planning and execution of year-round social media content for Start Proud, including content ideation, copywriting, asset development, and publishing coordination.
Create engaging, on-brand social content to drive awareness, community engagement, and participation across Start Proud’s platforms.
Collaborate closely with Start Proud leadership and internal stakeholders to ensure social content aligns with organizational goals, timelines, and messaging.
Assist in building and managing social media content calendars that support ongoing programming, partnerships, announcements, and key moments throughout the year.
Support real-time and timely social coverage for events, initiatives, and community moments, including live or day-of posting as needed.
Play a key role in social storytelling around Start Proud’s flagship initiatives, including Out on Bay Street (OOBS).
Assist with post-campaign and post-event social content, including recaps, highlights, and engagement follow-ups.
Track and report on social media performance metrics (e.g., engagement, reach, clicks) to help inform ongoing content optimization.

Qualifications & Skills
Current students, recent graduates, or aspiring content, communications, or marketing professionals seeking hands-on experience.
Strong written communication skills with an interest in social storytelling, copywriting, and digital content creation.
Highly organized with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple content streams simultaneously.
Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with leadership, partnerships, and event stakeholders.
Interest in social media, community building, professional storytelling, or event content.
Familiarity with platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok—and basic analytics—is a plus, but not required.
Passion for Start Proud’s mission and commitment to fostering inclusive professional communities.
