Shivani Nathoo (she/her) is a Professional Engineer in the energy field. She is extremely passionate about promoting equity broadly within society, and within engineering. She currently serves as the Chair of the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Task Force with the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers, where she has explored topics such as equity in AI and barriers that women, queer people, and internationally trained engineers face in the profession.She holds a Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Energy Systems Engineering from the University of Toronto, where she served as President of the Engineering Society. She also served on the U of T Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering’s Faculty Council and the Decanal Task Force on Mental Health.
