Sean McIver is a strategy consultant, entrepreneur, and committed community builder. As Director, PR & Risk Management; Co-Chair of L2BPO at Start Proud, he leads initiatives that expand the organization’s reach, strengthen programs, and create new opportunities for 2SLGBTQ+ students and professionals. He combines strategic vision with hands-on execution to ensure every project delivers measurable results and lasting impact.

Professionally, Sean is an Associate at Boston Consulting Group, where he advises clients on complex strategic and transactional challenges, including market assessments, due diligence, growth strategies, and post-merger integration. His experience spans multiple industries and draws on his background in both management consulting and entrepreneurship. Prior to BCG, Sean worked at McKinsey & Company and served as CEO and Co-Founder of Contend Social, a marketing agency he successfully scaled and later sold to a global firm. Earlier in his career, he held senior marketing roles in the technology sector, building expertise in brand strategy, communications, and business development.

Sean holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Certificate in Law from Queen’s University, specializing in corporate law, mergers, and acquisitions. Passionate about inclusive leadership, he brings both professional expertise and lived experience to advancing Start Proud’s mission of empowering the next generation of 2SLGBTQ+ leaders.
