In 2007, a small group of students came together to bridge the gap they saw for 2SLGBTQIA+ representation in Canada’s business and professional spaces. What started as a grassroots gathering in Toronto’s financial district quickly evolved into Out on Bay Street — an annual event where students, recent grads, professionals, and corporate partners come together to build networks, open doors, and shape workplaces where everyone can succeed.Today, Out on Bay Street is one of Start Proud’s signature initiatives, helping emerging leaders begin — or begin again — proud of who they are.
Every year, Out on Bay Street brings together hundreds of students and professionals for two days of networking, skill-building, and celebration. Attendees meet face-to-face with top employers, learn from industry leaders, and connect with a supportive community that understands their journey.
