Hale Nouri is a transgender woman from Iran who spent seven years as arefugee in Turkey before resettling in Canada. Her journey, marked byresilience and perseverance, has shaped her deep commitment to advocacy andcommunity support. Having witnessed firsthand the struggles of marginalizedindividuals, she has dedicated her life to being a voice for thevoiceless.
Hale served as a Support Coordinatorat the Trans Power Project under the Alliance for South Asian AIDS Prevention(ASAAP), where she worked to empower transgender and gender-diverseindividuals. She also played a vital role in ASAAP’s support programs forpeople living with, at risk of, or affected by HIV/AIDS, fostering an inclusiveand compassionate space for those in need.
With a strong belief in equity andcollective well-being, Hale continues to advocate for marginalized communities.She envisions a world where happiness, dignity, and opportunities areaccessible to all. Now, as a Settlement Worker, she focuses on assistingnewcomers from the Middle East, expanding her efforts to support a broadercircle of people in their journey toward stability and belonging.
