Code of Conduct

Start Proud is committed to building an inclusive space within corporate Canada for everyone. To uphold this commitment, all members, volunteers, attendees, and participants are required to adhere to the standards of conduct set out below. These standards apply at all Start Proud events and in all interactions associated with the organization, regardless of an individual's relationship to Start Proud.

1. Respect and Inclusion

Start Proud celebrates diversity and is committed to fostering an environment in which every individual feels valued and respected. All participants are expected to treat others with kindness, respect, and consideration, without regard to background, identity, or beliefs.

2. Harassment-Free Environment

Start Proud maintains a zero-tolerance policy with respect to harassment, discrimination, and bullying in any form. Prohibited conduct includes any unwelcome verbal, physical, visual, or digital behaviour that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment for any participant.

3. Professionalism

Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner in all interactions, whether online or in person. This includes punctuality, reliability, and courtesy in all communications and activities undertaken in connection with Start Proud.

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in removal from the event or program and, where appropriate, further action at the discretion of Start Proud. Start Proud also reserves the right to inform partner organizations of any Code of Conduct violations committed by individuals officially representing them at our events. Concerns or incidents should be reported promptly to a Start Proud organizer or volunteer.

By participating in Start Proud events and programs, you agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and contribute to the inclusive, professional environment it is designed to protect.
