Associate, Toronto Events
As Associate, Toronto Events you are responsible for assisting the Vice President in planning and successfully executing on Start Proud’s Year-Round events. Including but not limited to Monthly Socials, Quarterly Women’s Events, and industry specific events, this works out to approximately 12 events per year that you will be involved in planning.
Associate, Event Coordination
You will coordinate all details of the awards reception, working closely with sponsor to ensure the objectives of both parties are being achieved. Every detail must be considered for a high-profile event such as Leaders To Be Proud Of and we must be continuously seeking ways to make the evening memorable. This role requires managing bi-weekly touchpoints with the sponsor where you will create and execute a detailed workplan.
Associate, External Communications
You will coordinate the nomination process and guest communications. This will include careful management of awards nominations, invitations, RSVPs, and professionally handling support requests from our guests. You will also support efforts in public relations and the recruitment of nominees. This role offers a great transition into the VP role in the subsequent year upon a satisfactory performance appraisal.
Associate, Content Strategy
Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram are your domain. Typing out captivating copy is your secret superpower. As an Associate, Content & Strategy, you will be responsible for managing all social media channels on behalf of Start Proud and managing our mailing lists. This involves working with portfolio heads, VP, AVP Marketing, CD and Manager, Content & Strategy to write copy according to the marketing plan for these events that drives attendances and increases awareness of our events and organization.
Program Manager, Mentorship (2 open positions, Toronto/Ottawa)
Working directly with the President and Director of Mentorship you will be responsible for the successful execution of one of Start Proud’s provincial mentorship programs. The program curates highly personalized mentor/mentee relationships whose aim is to identify and achieve individual professional goals and help the mentee work towards their full potential.
Vice-President, New Precedent Conference
As the Vice President, New Precedent Conference you are responsible for the successful planning and execution of Start Proud’s newest flagship event. You will work closely with Executive Vice President to ensure all aspects of the New Precedent Conference are successful for participants and sponsors.
Associate, Content Development
As Associate, Content Development your role is to develop the New Precedent Conference program to ensure that it stays relevant and interesting to our student delegates. In this role you are tasked with ensuring that the content is appropriately reflective of the diverse needs of law students who may be interested in diverse fields of the law.
Start Proud Ottawa
Located in the nation’s capital, Start Proud Ottawa partnerswith both public and private sector organizations, departments, and companies to support Ottawa’s LGBTQ+ community! Some of our previous events have included a networking reception with Randy Boissonnault, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on LGBTQ+ Issues, a panel on the state of HIV progress and visibility, and a conversation about Transgender Reality in 2019.

Vice-President, Out On Bay Street Conference
As the Vice President of the Out On Bay Street Conference you are responsible for the successful planning and execution of one of Start Proud’s Flagship event. This conference is the annual focal point for the LGBTQ+ student community and our corporate sponsors. This is a high commitment position but is also high-profile and a rewarding one. You will have support from your team and the rest of the organization, but you are the one who is ultimately responsible for ensuring the success of the conference.
Assistant Vice-President, Out On Bay Street Conference
As the Assistant Vice President of the Out On Bay Street Conference you serve in a general executive role for the Out On Bay Street Conference supporting the VP in any tasks they require assistance on. This could include sourcing speakers and workshop topics with the Associate, Content Development or planning the events prior to the conference (Pre-conference recruitment event, Pre-conference workshop, Case Competition Webinar) This is a general role that is good for people who want to take on a larger role in the organization but aren’t ready to commit to the demands of a VP level position. Due to the conference wide visibility of the role it serves as a successor role to the VP should he or she be unable to fulfil the duties of the role.
Associate, Case Competition
As Associate, Case Competition & Community Outreach you will be responsible for the successful development, planning and execution of the Case Competition and Community Outreach Initiative taking place during the Out On Bay Street Conference.
Associate, Content Development
As Associate, Content Development your role is to develop the New Precedent Conference program to ensure that it stays relevant and interesting to our student delegates. In this role you are tasked with ensuring that the content is appropriately reflective of the diverse needs of law students who may be interested in diverse fields of the law

The Associate, Sponsorship has overall strategic and operational responsibility for establishing and managing new client relationships so as to ensure mutually beneficial relationships that embody the win-win philosophy.
The Associate, Logistics has overall strategic and operational responsibility for the development, planning, execution, and of all Out West Conference work related to venue, hotel, volunteers, registration, A/V, and all other ad-hoc items. Their bread and butter are all the details that go into event planning.
Associate, Student & Community Outreach
The Associate, Student & Community Outreach is responsible for the planning and development of the Out West Conference student and community outreach strategy. Their efforts help to raise brand awareness within the student and broader community to ensure the conference’s overall success.
Associate, Content Development
The Associate, Content Development has overall strategic and operational responsibility for the planning and development of the Out West Conference programming to ensure that it stays relevant and topical to our LGBTQ+ delegates.
